Welcome to my election site. Thank you for visiting. 

I’m running for EUSA President because I think OUR EDUCATION MATTERS. Edinburgh is a world-class university but our facilities, resources and teaching could be improved. It’s about time the university prioritised our education – making sure you get the best degree possible. 

I’m dedicated to delivering you the BEST EDUCATION possible. Academically - through better resources, world-class facilities and better feedback as well as socially - through lowering the cost of student life. 

I’d love to hear what matters to your about your education. I’ll be around campus all week so please come up and let me know your ideas. I’ve also set up a survey ‘What Matters in Education?’ which you can fill out to tell me the issues you have with your own course.

Key policies:

We are all at University to get a degree. I'm dedicated to putting your education first and delivering top facilities for YOU as well as cutting the cost of student life. My ideas are all achievable - I've thoroughly researched exactly how I can deliver you a world-class education.

Because Our Education Matters

• A New DoS system - The current DoS system doesn't work. I'll make sure you have a DoS who knows you, with regular contact time.

• Better Feedback - Last year in the National Student Survey Edinburgh University came last in the UK. This is unacceptable. I brought a motion to the EUSA General Meeting to get you better feedback. If elected, I'll make this a priority.

• Free Language Classes for all students - I'll tap into the ILA Scotland scheme so you can learn languages for free.

• Extra KB Bus in the morning and evening - Every day at peak times, students are turned away from the KB Bus because it's full. This is unacceptable - I'll deliver an extra morning and evening bus.

Because Cutting Costs Matter

You can't get a good education if you're struggling for money.

I'll cut the cost of student life.

• Cheaper electricity and gas - I've held talks with a green energy company who will offer student discounts on energy and ensure it's renewable - saving cash and the planet!

• Loyalty card scheme - I'll turn your Matric card into a loyalty card so you make money on every pound you spend in the Unions.

• £30 Bikes - Through a deal with the Bike Station you'll be able to loan a bike, complete with insurance against theft.

Because Having Fun Matters

• Better Gigs - Other Universities have popular and up-and-coming bands play their Unions. I'll make sure Edinburgh does too.

Because Experience Matters

You can trust me on these pledges because I'm the candidate with the experience to deliver real change.

I've represented Edinburgh students at both the National and local level. This year, on the Edinburgh Student Council Executive and as an Edinburgh delegate for the National Union of Students I've:

• Won more funding for societies
• Fought University budget cuts
• Worked to cut carbon emissions at Edinburgh
• Lobbied the Scottish Government for fairer funding for students

I've also edited 'the Student' newspaper. I'm currently the National Union of Students' 'Student Journalist of the Year'. I've also been nominated twice for the Guardian Student Media Awards and have written for the Independent and the Scotland on Sunday.
